A hand-made, hand-ground scraper for fitting Japanese hand planes. One end has a broad tip for the blade bed; the other a narrow chisel tip for the sides of the blade groove. Grind a square edge, raise a burr, and scrape the dai (plane body) to seat the kanna (Japanese plane) blade correctly. Hardened 1095 steel.
Recommended but optional for students in our beginner kanna classes.
